Skydiving Locations, Weight Restrictions, and Rules:

Skydive Locations: Unless otherwise posted, we are always jumping in Charlevoix.  Please follow the directions to the Charlevoix Airport location.  We generally jump in Empire on Saturday and Thursdays from 8am to noon, and Charlevoix all other times.  Mackinac Island Jumps are by special appointment only - Call to book Mackinac.

Weight Limit:  There is an extra charge if you are over 200 pounds. The skydiving weight limit is 230 pounds, but call to inquire if you are over 230 pounds. The weight limit includes all clothing you intend to wear on your jump and is measured with our scale.

Deposit and Gear Rental: When you make a reservation, you will pay a $75 deposit.  This deposit will count as your gear rental and it will be deducted from the price that you owe when you arrive at the dropzone.  The deposit/gear rental is refundable if you change or cancel your reservation at least 48 hours before your scheduled jump.  But please note, a $25 administrative fee per jumper applies to all refund requests.

Jump Day Info:  Please remember that some jumps at Skydive Charlevoix are one at at time, especially in late August and September.  The views are amazing, the instructors are amazing, and Charlevoix is one of the best places in the Midwest to visit.  And Jumping one at a time is fun and engaging, watching your friends land from our comfortable outdoor airport entertainment area where many of the Charlevoix public come up to watch us jump too.  Then, you're next!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How Old Do I Have to Be to Skydive?

You must be at least 18 years old to skydive.

  • What Should I Wear For Skydiving?

Wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing that won’t restrict your movement. Sneakers or athletic shoes are recommended and avoid wearing anything with a loose fit or that could potentially get caught on equipment.

  • How Do I Get Started in Skydiving?

The first step to getting started in skydiving is to find a reputable dropzone in your area. Most dropzones offer tandem skydives, which involve jumping with an experienced instructor who will guide you through the process. Once you’ve completed a tandem skydive, you can move on to more advanced training to become a licensed skydiver.

  • Can I Breath During Freefall?

Yes, you can breathe during freefall, but the rush of wind can make it difficult to breathe normally. Your instructor will teach you the proper breathing techniques to use during freefall.

  • Can I get a video or photographs of my jump?

Yes. We can provide you with videos that have been edited to music and include a pre-jump interview. We also provide high definition digital stills of your skydive.

  • Can I bring my own GoPro on my tandem skydive?

When you make a tandem skydive, you are considered a student skydiver. Per the rules of the United States Parachute Association, student skydivers cannot jump with any kind of video or photography equipment. For the safety of you and your instructor, unlicensed skydivers will not be permitted to bring along a camera, even a small format sports camera.

Your instructor or videographer may use these tools to record your jump for you. Be assured that these are professional skydivers trained to use these cameras while also maintaining the proper safety procedures during a skydive.
